As the Founder and CEO of G.I.R.L.S. Forever, Gladys Lewis brings a passion for uplifting and advocating for young girls from at-risk backgrounds. Her journey began as an in-school reading tutor for at-risk students in Jacksonville, Florida, where she connected deeply with a group of girls who sought her guidance daily. Inspired by their transformation and the profound impact she had on their lives, Gladys felt a calling to do more. Guided by her faith and experiences, including her roles as a foster parent, mental health case manager, and social worker, she founded G.I.R.L.S. Forever in 2011. With great community support, the organization became a 501(C)(3) in 2018, dedicated to creating long-lasting mentoring relationships that help girls overcome gender, economic, and social barriers.
